A worldwide victim advocacy group is looking to help individuals in the Sheboygan area.
The 911 Cell Phone Bank strives to provide free emergency devices, such as cell phones and laptops, to victims of human trafficking and domestic violence, and they are now seeking donations in Sheboygan County.
With that in mind, local organizations such as the Sheboygan Police Department and Sheboygan County Health and Human Services are hosting the Lending Lifelines electronics donation drive to ensure crime victims have access to these important devices.
On the importance of this donation drive, Sheboygan PD stated, “Oftentimes, victims do not have a safe way to call out for help – leaving them stuck in unsafe situations. This program helps provide free phones to those who need it most.”
Once an item is donated, Sheboygan PD’s Division of Victim Services partners with the 911 Phone Bank to ensure 100% of all previous data on the device is erased before it’s distributed to a person in need.
Donations can be dropped off inside the Health and Human Services lobby located at 1011 North 8th Street.
