Margaret M. Steele, age 83, of Manitowoc, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Margaret was born on July 26, 1942 to the late Leonard and Patricia (Baranyos) Lueck. She attended Morton High School in Hammond, IN. Over the years, she worked as a CNA. On November 26, 1968 she married Clarence Steele. Margaret was a member of American Legion Post of Medaryville, IN and Cave Creek of Phoenix, AZ. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Margaret is survived by her children: Anthony Steele, Edmund Steele, Linda (Dale) Schadegg, and Katie Jean Denis; former husband: Ronald McCooley; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and four step great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband: Clarence Steele; special friend: Edward Randall; daughters: Michelle Louise McCooley and Lisa Deanne Steele; and parents: Leonard and Patricia Lueck.
A Memorial service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 3:00pm at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th St. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at the funeral home from 1:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm.
