
A kitchen caught fire at a home in Manitowoc yesterday afternoon.
Manitowoc Fire Rescue received a transmission at 4:35 p.m. yesterday (August 2nd) for a report of an oven on fire in the 500 block of S. 31st Street.
Assistant Fire Chief Jeremy Wagner says the first engine arrived on scene within four minutes and found an active fire in the kitchen of the home with smoke filling the structure.
All occupants had made it outside before firefighters deployed a hose line and began to extinguish the fire.
Additional companies performed a primary search of three levels of the structure while the main kitchen fire was extinguished quickly.
No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
There is also no estimated dollar loss at this time.
Manitowoc Fire Rescue was assisted at the scene by Two Rivers Fire, Valders Ambulance Service, Manitowoc Police, Manitowoc Public Utilities, and Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch.
