Some of Madison’s elected leaders want to see the blockade at the site of the Corey Ruiz shooting removed.
District Six Alder Davey Mayer and Dane County Supervisor Yogesh Chawla released a joint statement yesterday calling the blockade at Williamson and Baldwin Streets “untenable.”
They added that peace established by protesters there “could fracture” because of outside agitators and other safety concerns.
Several people have set up tents in the area since Ruiz was shot and killed on July 22nd during a struggle with multiple officers.
