A Manitowoc man has been sentenced in a federal child pornography case.
28-year-old Zachariah R. Breihof was ordered by U.S. District Judge Byron B. Conway to spend seven years in prison, followed by 10 years on supervised release after he pleaded guilty to one count of Transportation of Child Pornography.
The investigation into Breihof began in January of 2025, when a CyberTip was received, claiming he had uploaded around 130 images depicting children in sexual situations.
A search of his computer and other electronic devices uncovered over 28,000 files of child sexual assault material, along with 5,000 files of what was referred to as “high-risk child pornography.”
Judge Conway described the case as “extremely serious” and noted that the types of images possessed and transported by Breihof are “reviled by every culture.”
Manitowoc Police Chief John R. Musial added, “I am incredibly grateful for the dedicated members of our department who possess the skill, compassion, and professionalism to thoroughly investigate these difficult cases and seek justice on behalf of vulnerable victims.”
This case was investigated by the Manitowoc Police Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble.
