A man convicted in connection with an Eau Claire County homicide now knows his fate.
The body of 79-year-old Dennis Schattie was found in the river near Rockford, Illinois in April of 2022.
Investigators believe Schattie was killed in Altoona.
Brandon Gaston was convicted last month of being a party to the crime of first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse.
He was sentenced yesterday to life in prison with no chance for parole.
