Wisconsin’s Sixth District Congressman says next year’s defense bill will ensure the U.S. Military has the resources, technology, and support needed to keep America safe.
Congressman Glenn Grothman voted in favor of the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act, which he says will deliver a 5 to 7% pay raise for servicemembers and improve support for military families through better housing, childcare, and education resources.
The Glenbeulah Republican says it also cuts nearly $30 billion in wasteful programs while strengthening efforts to prevent fraud.
Rep. Grothman also stated that for too long, “our nation’s defense capabilities have faced underinvestment while our adversaries continue to expand their own. This bill helps restore America’s Arsenal of Freedom by increasing production capacity, strengthening our supply chains, and supporting thousands of skilled American jobs.”
Rep. Grothman joined most Republicans and six Democrats to vote on the bill last Wednesday.
All Republican members of Congress from Wisconsin voted for the bill, while Democratic representatives Mark Pocan and Gwen Moore voted no.
