A southside Manitowoc home caught fire over the weekend.
The Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department was called to the residence Sunday evening to find the fire on the first floor of the residence, and learned that a dog was still trapped inside on the second floor.
Crews immediately began attacking the fire and searching the first floor, rescuing several other pets, before also safely evacuating the canine.
One of the residents was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, but no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire and the cost of the damage are not known at this time.
Manitowoc Fire Rescue thanked the Manitowoc Police Department, Manitowoc Public Utilities, and Wisconsin Public Service for their assistance at the scene.
