The first games of the 2026 high school football season kicks-off on August 20th, and with that in mind, WOMT Sports Talk gets you ready with our annual “High School Football Coaches Roundtable” Monday (tomorrow) night to preview and dissect what to expect this upcoming season.
Joining the show will be Manitowoc Lutheran Head Coach Ryan Hulse, whose Lancers reached the Division Six State semifinals for the first time in school history and are coming off their first Big East conference title since 2011.
Two Rivers Head Coach Kevin Shillcox begins his 14th season at the helm of The Purple Raiders, having taken Two Rivers to postseason play 10 times, including the state semifinals twice. They also return to The Eastern Wisconsin Conference after a two-year stint in The Northeast Wisconsin Conference.
Former Green Bay Packer offensive lineman Evan Smith begins his third year at the helm of The Manitowoc Lincoln Ships.
It’s taken some time to get the ball rolling, but the Shipbuilders finished strong in 2025, posting back-to-back victories against Green Bay East and Sheboygan South to give them momentum heading into 2026.
Aaron Zepnik is a newcomer to the head coaching ranks as he takes over at Roncalli for Paul Kinsella, who stepped down last season after leading the Jets to back-to-back playoff berths in 2024 and 2025.
All are invited to come watch WOMT Sports Talk, which airs from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. at Salute to Everyone, located at 1107 South 10th Street in Manitowoc.
