A new team has been established in Manitowoc County to combat human trafficking.
The newly created Manitowoc County Human Trafficking Task Force is a multidisciplinary team committed to “preventing human trafficking through education, awareness, collaboration, and community engagement.”
The group will look to accomplish this by partnering across agencies and local organizations to identify and address trafficking risks in the community.
Regarding its recent introduction, the task force noted, “Through outreach events, public education initiatives, and social media engagement, the team’s goal is to raise awareness, empower community members with knowledge, and help protect individuals from exploitation.”
Following the announcement, Sheboygan County’s Human Trafficking Task Force stated that they are happy to see something similar established in Manitowoc County, and that they look forward to working together in the future.
