Two Calumet County correctional officers are being praised for their quick actions to try and save an inmate in the county jail.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office says Officers Kurt Mayer, Daniella Murillo-Alfaro, Alexis Mleziva, and Sgt. Maggie Ratajczak responded to the county’s correctional facility yesterday morning after an inmate went into cardiac arrest.
Working together, they revived the inmate, who was taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
Calumet County Sheriff Brett Bowe says their quick response, teamwork, and professionalism made a critical difference during a life-threatening emergency.
Bowe congratulated the corrections officers and finished by saying, “you have and continue to answer the responsibilities of a demanding career; be proud, we are!”
