The City of Two Rivers is looking to fix audio issues during city council meetings.
City officials announced that they are moving forward with new ceiling-mounted microphones that should provide “better audio coverage throughout the Council Chambers.”
The current mics used by council members are over nine years old and should have been replaced years ago, according to city staff.
An initial proposal would have cost the city $20,000 for upgrades to the full sound system.
The ceiling microphones will only cost the city $7,000.
City officials finish by saying that rather than simply replacing old equipment with the same expensive solution, “they are looking for smarter, more innovative, and more cost-effective ways to improve City services.”
The city finishes by saying they appreciate residents’ patience while they continue to modernize City Hall one project at a time.
