A local community food center has earned a special grant from Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc.
Grow It Forward received funding from the Community Grant Program to support efforts to address food insecurity, poor health, and isolation in Manitowoc County through healthy food access, food skills development, and engagement.
Grow It Forward CEO Amber Daugs stated on the organization’s Facebook page that Froedtert’s financial commitment to sow seeds of health to provide fresh, nutritious food to the community leads to healthier and stronger futures for all of us.
Since November 2025, Grow It Forward has helped provide over 2,040 pounds of produce through their hydroponic farm, which has supported over 1,012 pantry participants, 250 community meal participants, 43 students and youth participating in hydroponic educational activities, and has worked with over 68 volunteers.
Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital’s grant program allows a 501 (c) to apply for up to $25,000 for funding support.
