A community in Sheboygan County has received significant federal funding to make substantial infrastructure upgrades.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has invested nearly $8 million to make water and sewer system upgrades in the Village of Cedar Grove through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program.
Just over $4 million of this funding will go towards reconstructing roughly 3,700 feet of the Village’s wastewater system.
Meanwhile, approximately $3.5 million will be used for water main reconstruction.
USDA Rural Development’s Wisconsin State Director Andrew C. Iverson underscored the importance of this project, stating, “Reliable water infrastructure is crucial for the well‑being of rural communities. Projects like these protect public health, support economic growth, and help keep utility costs affordable for residents.”
These projects are estimated to benefit more than 2,100 residents in the area.
As of now, no start date has been provided for when work will begin.
