A man is in custody after allegedly shoving a 78-year-old woman to the ground during a robbery.
Officers were called around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to the area of Spaight and Paterson Streets.
The victim was out for a walk when the suspect, identified as David F. Atkinson, ran up to her and tried to take her purse.
Atkinson allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and took off with a separate bag she had been carrying.
He was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including strong-armed robbery.
