A monthly event in Sheboygan was cancelled this past weekend due to the continuing poor air quality conditions.
The Sheboygan Department of Public Works’ July Large Item Collection Event was scheduled to take place on Saturday (July 18th), but hazardous air quality conditions forced the department to call the event off, with the DPW adding, “The City is committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees and residents who are participating in these events.”
Despite the cancellation, Sheboygan residents will still have three chances to dispose of unwanted large items this year.
The remaining Large Item Collection Events will be held on August 15th, September 19th, and October 17th.
Each event will be held at the Residential Recycling Center, located at 2026 New Jersey Avenue, and run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
More information on the remaining events can be found online by visiting sheboyganwi.gov.
