A Lincoln alumnus recently published a book about the history of Lincoln High School.
Parker Nadeau graduated from Lincoln in 2004, and although his book wasn’t published until April of 2026, it was a long time coming.
Nadeau explained, “It was the hundredth anniversary of the school that kind of started it, but I also kind of started it back when I was in high school, when I was the editor of the newspaper.”
This book was on Nadeau’s mind for years before it was made into the story that it is now, and lots of time and research was put into creating it.
“Mostly newspapers, but I did go through all of the yearbooks and the old school newspapers,” he added.
The book, titled “Beacon of Learning: A Centennial History of Lincoln High School”, was written to commemorate the long history of the school.
“Just how valuable the school is to the community, and it’s important that it’s actually been around that long, where other buildings have not been,” Nadeau stated.
Nadeau’s book combined historic records, efforts to preserve the building’s history, and context around the school conduction into a beautiful story that reminds people not to take their historic buildings for granted.
The book can be rented from the Manitowoc Public Library or purchased on Amazon.
