The mother of Elijah Vue now has a new attorney.
Court records show that 33-year-old Katrina Baur will be represented by Attorney Russel Jones.
A motion was also made for an appearance over Zoom yesterday (July 16th).
Baur was granted a new attorney earlier this week after she claimed there was a breakdown of communication between her and her former attorney, Amber Gratz.
Two attorneys from Obear and Associates previously said they would represent the 33-year-old; however, Judge Anthony Lambrecht ruled they couldn’t because he saw it as “an attempt to sabotage the attorney-client relationship between the Defendant (Baur) and Attorney Gratz.”
Baur faces charges including chronic child neglect, resulting in death, neglecting a child, and two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer after Elijah’s remains were found in the Town of Two Rivers in September 2024.
Elijah was first reported missing in February that year.
She’s scheduled to return to court on August 20th for a status conference.
Baur’s partner Jesse Vang also faces charges in the toddler’s death.
Prosecutors say Katrina brought Elijah over to Jesse’s apartment in Two Rivers to “correct his bad behavior.”
Vang’s most serious charge is physical abuse of a child causing death and hiding a corpse.
