Major League Baseball has announced that the Milwaukee Brewers still plan to play the Miami Marlins as originally scheduled to open the post-All-Star portion of their schedule at 6:40 p.m. tonight, despite poor air quality in Milwaukee and southeast Wisconsin due to wildfires burning in Canada and Minnesota.
Earlier Friday, the Brewers said they were in communication with Major League Baseball regarding the situation and that the league would ultimately determine whether the game would be played, a decision that could still be made later this afternoon.
One possibility would be to reschedule the game as part of a doubleheader, either Saturday or Sunday, since this is the only visit by the Marlins to Milwaukee this season.
Despite having a retractable roof, it does not necessarily, in the clubs’ words, reduce the health risks for fans traveling any distance to attend the game.
The Brewers have announced that fans with tickets to tonight’s game have the option to exchange their tickets for another 2026 regular-season home game.
