An annual fishing tournament will be held in Sheboygan this week.
The return of the Sheboygan Powder Puff Fishing Derby is set for tomorrow (July 15th), with festivities running from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Participants are asked to pick up their captain’s packets between 5:00 and 5:30 a.m., when all boats will hit the water.
The all-ladies derby will conclude at noon, with all boats required to be in line with their fish to qualify.
Prizes will be awarded by weight, and all fish must be at least 18 inches to be considered.
Following the fishing, the public is invited to the derby after-party at The Wharf, which will feature food, drinks, a DJ, and an award ceremony.
Costumes are encouraged for the derby, with this year’s theme being “Whatever Floats Your Boat.”
Besides awards for top boat and top individual fish for the five fish categories in the derby, there will also be a group and individual costume award handed out as well.
