
Two trap shooters from Mishicot earned a spot among the best shooters in the nation.
Sawyer Sand and Logan Campion competed in the Individual Championships at the 2026 USA High School Clay Target League National Championships.
Both local athletes shot a 94 out of 100, earning Sand a ranking of 269 and Campion a 281st place finish among the boys.
Overall, Sand finished 294th, and Campion was 306th.
Sawyer hit 75 straight clay pigeons, which equates to three consecutive perfect rounds.
16 shooters finished championship Sunday with perfect scores, including Wisconsin shooters Gavin Schutte of Ashland-Washburn High School and Jaxson Happel of Holmen High School.
Nevyn Hengel of Sibley East High School in Minnesota earned the top spot among all 402 shooters who earned a spot in the final round.
