The City of Kiel is moving closer to a new Public Works and Electric Utility Building.
On their agenda for tomorrow’s meeting, the city council will vote to approve a land use agreement with the Wisconsin DNR for property located adjacent to the proposed building site.
City Administrator Ryan Pafford explains that the agreement covers access needed for construction activities and the continued operation of a portion of 8th Street serving as a public roadway for the Kiel Marsh Wildlife Area.
Terms of the land lease agreement would include maintaining the premises in a safe condition.
The agreement also supports long-term planning while the DNR evaluates the property’s future disposition.
