A Green Bay man has been sentenced for the killing of his addiction sponsor and his dog.
36-year-old James Dorr was found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect on charges of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Mistreatment of Animals, both with the Use of a Dangerous Weapon, while also being found guilty due to no-contest pleas on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and two counts of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
After serving three years in prison, Dorr was ordered by Judge Marc Hammer to spend the rest of his life in a secure mental health facility.
Dorr was arrested shortly after the victim and his pet poodle were found dead in an apartment on Capitol Drive last January.
Dorr admitted to drinking and using meth prior to the attack.
