Numerous road closures in Sheboygan begin today (July 13th).
The Department of Public Works is reminding motorists that closures on portions of Clara and Ontario Avenues and North 11th and 12th Streets will be put in place today and will affect traffic for multiple weeks.
Ontario will be closed between North 11th and 12th Streets, while 11th and 12th will be closed between Erie Avenue and Ontario.
Clara Avenue’s closure will run from South 7th Street to South 14th Street.
In both project areas, work will include storm sewer improvements, new crosswalks, curb and gutter repairs, milling pavement, and asphalt paving.
No detour will be posted near Ontario, 11th, and 12th, while the Clara Avenue truck route detour will take drivers to South 8th Street, onto Broadway to South 7th Street, and back to Clara.
Construction on all four streets is tentatively scheduled to be completed by the end of August.
