A local non-profit is asking for community support for their fundraisers.
Belinda Esquinas is a part of The Crossing in Manitowoc, which is a local non-profit organization celebrating 20 years of providing every child with a healthy family.
As a family resource and support center, The Crossing offers many services to parents.
The organization noted, “We have a parent and education program, we have a small medical clinic where we provide pregnancy testing, 3D ultrasounds, and a lot of support to women who are pregnant and right after they have their baby. And we also have a boutique and pantry where parents enrolled in our program, our education program earn points, and then they use those points to shop for anything they may need for their household, or cleaning products, personal hygiene, or their children.”
They say their goal is to not only help out the parents, but to make life easier on the children.
“We want to empower parents to raise strong and resilient children so we ae here to serve in whichever way we can to the community,” they added.
All the services offered at The Crossing are free, and to raise their funds, the organization does have a fundraiser coming up.
They are having a brat fry on July 13th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Those interested are encouraged to order their brat ahead of time on The Crossing Manitowoc Facebook page.
This event will be a drive-through at The Crossing, and all funds raised will go towards the organization.
In honor of providing for families for 20 years, they will also be having an open house from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., where they will be offering $8 lunch packs and desserts.
“Yes, on the 22nd this is part of our celebratory list of event that we are doing. And we want to open the door of our home, so to speak, and invite the community. Come, find out, help us celebrate 20 years. We are going to have refreshments, we are going to have a self-guided tour, guided tours, a timeline celebrating or highlighting some of the milestones that we have been accomplishing in the last 20 years,” they told us.
The Crossing encourages everyone to help their fundraisers raise the money that they need to keep providing for families, while explaining, “All our services are free of charge, so in order to continue providing free services to the community and those who need it most we continue to do fundraising and we are blessed to live in a very generous community.”
