A Green Bay woman is facing charges in Florida after she allegedly hit a security guard with a car.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reports that Tayquanna Butler was renting an AirBNB in Devenport, Florida, on Independence Day, when she attempted to enter a gated property.
The Security guard told her she was not on the approved list of visitors, to which she reportedly responded, “What are you going to do if I drive through?”
She then did just that, and the security guard followed her in his patrol car. Butler eventually stopped, and the security guard approached her vehicle.
She eventually drove into the guard, pinning him to the driver’s side of his car. He sustained non-serious injuries as Butler fled the scene.
Butler attempted to fly back to Wisconsin, but was detained at the Orlando International Airport on charges of Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said of the incident, “You’re not going to come into Polk County and act the way you do back home, disobeying not just the laws of decorum but the laws of our state. All this woman had to do was show some ID and register her car at the resort where she was staying. Now she’s facing two felonies and is locked up in jail.”
