An accused child groomer is looking to get his bail lowered.
Court records show that 33-year-old Nathan Brase of Medford will be in front of Manitowoc County Judge Anthony Lambrecht for a bail hearing today (July 7th).
Late last month, Brase was given a $25,000 cash bail after being charged with Grooming a Child for Sexual Activity, Exposing Genitals to a Child, Soliciting an Intimate Representation from a Child, Exposing a Child to Harmful Descriptions, and one misdemeanor count of Intimidating a Victim.
Today’s hearing signals that the 33-year-old and his legal counsel will be arguing to get that bail lowered.
The investigation into Brase began when the Two Rivers Police Department received information that Brase was in communication with a child from Two Rivers.
Throughout that investigation, the department noted, “Detectives uncovered evidence indicating Brase had been grooming the child for sexual activity, sexually extorting the victim, making threats, and soliciting intimate images from the minor.”
He was then arrested in a multi-agency effort at his residence in Medford.
Regardless of the State’s decision today regarding his bail, Brase will be back in court on Thursday (July 9th) for his preliminary hearing.
