Two Rivers’ city manager says the city is making progress getting its general fund out of a deficit.
Kyle Kordell told SeehaferNews.com that the fund remains in a stable position through the first four months of the year.
However, the city has spent slightly more than it has taken in, with $4.13 million in revenue and $4.16 million in expenditures.
That means there’s a $35,500 deficit, which Kordell says is a significant improvement over the city’s $300,800 deficit.
Kordell says revenue has continued to perform better than before, with building permit revenue, recreation fees, and investment earnings.
Spending for the Cool City also remains in line with the police department’s expenditures at 33.4% of the budget, 33.1% going to the fire department, and 32.6% to the Public Works Department.
Kordell finishes saying that while the results are encouraging, they don’t include the money the city will have to spend on the May storm cleanup.
