Road work on State Highway 28 in Sheboygan County begins today (July 6th).
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is reminding motorists that with the start of this months-long resurfacing project, 28 will be closed at the Onion River, a quarter mile southwest of County Road N.
This closure started at 6:00 a.m. today and will remain in place until late summer, allowing for a complete bridge replacement at the Onion River.
Other work to be done throughout the summer includes milling, widening of the shoulder, centerline rumble strips, and replacing the aging guardrail.
In total, the resurfacing project will span approximately 8.9 miles and was approved for over $5 million by Governor Tony Evers.
