A Fond du Lac man is charged with making terrorist threats to a high-ranking Wisconsin official.
Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says that 46-year-old Bradley Hartmann threatened to kill a high-ranking Wisconsin Executive Office official and their family who works in Madison.
Judge Andrew Christenson set Hartmann’s bond at $15,000 cash and scheduled his next hearing for July 23rd.
A criminal complaint says a detective with the Wisconsin State Capitol Police Department was made aware of the phone calls before listening to voicemails from Hartmann.
The voicemails contain a lot of extreme language, with one transcript allegedly having the 46-year-old say, “Come find me, call the cops. I will find you. I will [expletive] kill you and your [expletive] family.
Toney says America has witnessed horrific acts of political violence in recent years.
He continued saying he wants to “protect our public and elected officials, regardless of what political party they may belong to, and we will hold those accountable that seek to disrupt or impair government operations.”
Hartmann has been charged with three counts of making a terrorist threat and four counts of telephone harassment.
