The first of multiple grant recipients has been named by the United Way of Sheboygan County.
The United Way has awarded Black-American Community Outreach with $10,000 in funding, the first of three Innovation Grants to be handed out by the nonprofit this year.
This Innovation grant will directly support Black-American Community Outreach to strengthen financial literacy throughout Sheboygan County.
On why the community outreach organization was selected, the United Way explained, “Our Community Action Team recognized the organization’s commitment to equipping individuals and families with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools needed to build long-term financial stability. Their community-centered approach reflects the power of meeting people where they are and creating pathways toward lasting success.”
Black-American Community Outreach was established in 2020 and works to empower and support black community members in the City of Sheboygan.
In the coming days, the United Way of Sheboygan County will unveil the final two local organizations that will be receiving the remaining $30,000 in Innovation Grants for 2026.
