Ready Wisconsin wants to ensure that anyone celebrating the 4th is doing so safely.
They say the best way to stay safe is to watch community firework shows run by professionals, but if you choose to set them off yourself, Ready Wisconsin has some tips to keep everyone safe.
Make sure to obey local firework laws, keep children away from the fireworks, use fireworks outside and always keep a safe distance, and only light one firework at a time.
The 4th of July is also a time when many families take trips or have outdoor gatherings.
If you plan on doing either of these things, remember to pack an emergency kit, never leave people or pets in a hot car, keep grills at least three feet from your home, and make sure an adult is present when swimming.
