A man has been arrested after he attempted to kidnap a woman in broad daylight.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Mascoutin Valley Trail in the Village of Rosendale just after 3:30 Monday afternoon on a report of an attempted kidnapping.
The 27-year-old female was walking with her 1-year-old son in a stroller when a man came up behind her, put a white cloth over her mouth, and grabbed her around the neck.
The woman fought back and escaped the attacker with her son, and ran back to her nearby residence to call 911.
Deputies and detectives began searching the area, and thanks to the victim’s report, eyewitness testimony, and security camera footage, an unnamed 21-year-old man was arrested.
He is facing charges of Attempted Kidnapping, False Imprisonment, and Battery.
No additional details are being released, but the Sheriff’s Office did say that all evidence points to this being an isolated incident and that there is no remaining threat to the public.
