Two local baseball games on the calendar for yesterday were cancelled, but there is one on the docket for tonight.
The Two Rivers Polar Bears said that “The weather is not a baseball fan this year,” as they were rained out of their game against the Algoma Guins, as were the Ashwaubenon Lookouts, as they were set to battle the Green Bay Blue Ribbons.
The Polar Bears will be in Kewaunee tonight to take on the Chiefs.
The Polar Bears are trying to get back to an even .500 in the Shoreland League and end a two-game in-league losing streak.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, are 3-0 in Shoreland League games.
The teams are pretty equal offensively, at least on paper, as the Chiefs have plated 16 runs over their three league games, while Two Rivers has scored 14 times.
The big difference is the defensive side.
The Chiefs have allowed only 8 runs, while the Bears have been scored on 27 times.
Tonight’s game at Memorial Park is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
