A residential kitchen caught fire in Two Rivers yesterday (June 30th).
The Two Rivers Fire Department was called to an unspecified home just after 12:30 p.m., where they observed smoke coming through the entry door.
The residents were already outside, but it was believed that three family pets were still inside.
Firefighters entered the home, where they found a stovetop fire that had caused a large amount of smoke.
The flames were quickly extinguished, and the crews ventilated the structure.
The family dog and both cats were located safe.
The incident was believed to have caused roughly $7,000 in damage.
The Two Rivers Fire Department is reminding residents to never leave anything unattended while cooking, and to make sure all flammable items are kept away from the cooking surface.
They also thanked the Two Rivers Police Department, as well as the fire departments from Manitowoc and the Town of Two Rivers.
