There is a clear distinction between the haves and have-nots in the Shoreland League.
The league standings have the teams separated into two distinct categories: teams with more than one losses and teams with more than one wins.
The Denmark Devilbears currently have the top spot, sitting at 6-1, followed by the Kewaunee Chiefs at 3-0 and the 3-1 Casco A’s. Then there is the bottom half of the league.
The Two Rivers Polar Bears sit in 4th place at 1-2, followed closely by the newest addition to the league, the Manitowoc White Caps, who are 1-3.
The Ashwaubenon Lookouts are 0-2, while the Algoma Guins are in dead last, yet to pick up a win in five attempts.
There are a couple of games on the docket today, but only one will count toward league standings as the Polar Bears travel to Perry Field in Algoma to take on the Guins.
Meanwhile, the Lookouts will make the short trip to Joannes Stadium for an interleague matchup against the Green Bay Blue Ribbons, where Manitowoc Lincoln graduate Brayden Steinbecker has been honing his trade.
In fact, he pitched 7 shutout innings over the weekend, helping lead the Ribbons to a 1-0 win over Lombard.
