The Whitefish Bay School District is writing a check to end a federal civil rights lawsuit.
The district has agreed to pay more than $52,000 to settle claims that administrators discriminated against a Black student three years ago.
Administrators and the school board were accused of supporting unfair disciplinary action against the student while also tossing aside the student’s harassment claims.
The compromise also includes a peace meeting between the student and the district.
