A significant interchange closure will affect motorists in Sheboygan County starting today (June 29th).
The Wisconsin DOT will begin bridge work on the southbound I-43 interchange with Highway 23, which will leave the ramps on and off of I-43 closed for over a month.
A detour is being put in place using County Road Y for the duration of the 35-day project.
The northbound on and off ramps will also be addressed next month.
The contractor will also continue rehab work on various structures on the north and southbound sides and milling and paving operations throughout the 10-mile stretch of I-43 between Wilson/Lima Road and Highway 42.
This will leave the northbound on ramp at Highway 28 and off ramp at Highway 42 closed today from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and the southbound on ramp at Highway 42 will be closed during the same time frame tomorrow.
