Summer programming has officially begun at the Boys and Girls Club of Manitowoc County.
The local club served an average of 94 youth per day during the first week.
Over the course of the week, 122 different youth participated in programming, with daily attendance consistently nearing capacity.
Through our partnership with Chartwells, every member received breakfast and lunch each day, supplemented by a healthy afternoon snack provided by the Club.
Beyond meeting basic needs, the first week was marked by strong youth engagement, new friendships, the reconnection of returning members, and a positive, active summer environment.
The Club also noted that demand for the program remains high, adding, “We are closely monitoring enrollment and our waitlist, which currently includes 16 youth for next week, to maximize participation while maintaining safe staff-to-youth ratios and a high-quality experience.”
Looking ahead, staff are preparing for our first summer field trip to the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, providing members with an opportunity to explore creativity and engage in hands-on arts experiences outside of the Club.
