The tonnage numbers are on the rise at the Port of Green Bay.
During the month of May, over 145,000 tons of cargo moved through the port, which is nearly 22,000 tons more than in May of 2025, and 45,000 tons more than in March and April combined.
Port Director Dean Haen noted that the “Heavy rainfall resulting in temporary disruptions to vessel navigation and port operations kicked off a slower start to the shipping season during March and April,” but added they are “happy to see numbers beginning to rise.”
This month, a total of six commodities moved through the Port, including cement (38,968 tons), limestone (16,996 tons), liquid asphalt (5,998 tons), U.S. salt (24,453 tons), petroleum products (52,744 tons), and wood pulp/paper reels (6,124 tons).
All commodities have increased since the months of March and April of this year, with petroleum products year-to-date (YTD) totals tracking 321% higher than 2025.
To make this all happen, 13 vessels entered the Port, bringing the YTD total to 17.
