An upcoming water control project has the potential to result in unintentional harm to a state-endangered and federally endangered snake.
The project involves the replacement of four water control structures at the Townline Flowage in Jackson County.
Officials say that eastern massasauga snakes could be harmed during work on that project.
Wisconsin DNR says steps will be taken to minimize harm to the snakes.
