The deadline to support hungry kids next school year in Sheboygan County has been extended.
The Sheboygan County Food Bank has extended the donation deadline for its Fund Food for Thought for Kids campaign to midnight on Friday (June 26th).
Currently, the Food Bank has raised approximately $100,000 for the Food for Thought program; however, they are still $50,000 short of their $150,000 goal.
Once again this year, the Black Spring Foundation has pledged to match all donations up to $150,000, and the Food Bank is hoping to reach the full match by extending the deadline.
The Food for Thought for Kids program supplies free, nutritional meals to children at 29 schools across the county to take home over the weekends to ensure they are well fed when not in school.
Last year, with the match from the Black Spring Foundation, the Sheboygan County Food Bank’s Fund Food for Thought campaign raised $215,000 to support local children facing hunger.
