A park in the City of Kiel has received some recent improvements.
HUI Manufacturing, Kiel High School, and the city recently teamed up to add new interactive stations on the Born Learning Trail in Waack Park on Kiel’s east side.
The trail is an early childhood development program offered through the United Way as a way to establish vital pathways for success in school and life.
Old leapfrog stones were removed from the park to make way for buried timer posts that children can leap over.
A small playhouse was taken out and replaced with an improved structural design that will “provide a more open space and better resistance to weather.”
HUI Manufacturing Design Engineer Wayne Schad says the group’s goal was to improve the activities while making them more visible and durable for future generations.
Kiel High School Tech Instructor Ted Bonde expressed the value of the high school students, calling it an activity for the class.
Plus, any contribution that helps our kids add value to the community they will one day be a part of is a win for us.”
