An Appleton family is missing a pet after a house fire yesterday afternoon.
The Appleton Fire Department was called to a home in the 1300 block of East Calumet Street at 12:30 p.m., where they found smoke and flames coming from inside the home.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes of their arrival with no injuries reported.
No humans were home at the time, but a family pet is still unaccounted for.
The Appleton Fire Department believes the animal had fled the home when the firefighters arrived.
A cause has not yet been determined, and it was estimated to have caused $70,000 in damage.
