A local brewery has been selected to help the state of Wisconsin celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday.
3 Sheeps Brewing has been selected by Wisconsin’s Semiquincentennial Commission to brew the state’s official Semiquincentennial beer.
Grant Pauly, founder and brewmaster of 3 Sheeps Brewing, voiced his pride in being selected, saying, “Among all the incredible breweries in this state, it’s an honor to be asked to make Wisconsin’s official beer for the 250th celebrations. We’re really excited for the opportunity.”
The beer they created is known as Stay Golden, which Pauly calls a “nod to some of the great beers of the past, including Kingsbury Pale Ale.”
The Pauly family actually has a direct tie to that beer, as Grant’s great-grandfather served as president, his grandfather was treasurer, and his great-uncle was a brewmaster at Kingsbury.
This designation is part of a larger campaign by dozens of states across the country, all brewing an official beer of the state’s Semiquincentennial Celebration Events.
