
The woman charged in a fatal drunk driving crash in Brown County has been convicted.
68-year-old Cheryl Mitchell was found guilty due to no contest pleas on charges of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle and two counts of Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle for the incident on Thanksgiving last year.
Additional charges of Homicide by Use of Vehicle and Injury by Use of a Vehicle were dismissed but read into the record.
Mitchell was allegedly behind the wheel of a vehicle that crashed into another on I-43 near the State Highway 96 Ramp in New Denmark.
She admitted to drinking three glasses of wine with her nieces before getting in the car.
A husband and wife were injured in the crash, while their son died from his injuries two days after the crash.
She will be sentenced on August 14th.
