The Manitowoc Public School District’s Board of Education has approved bids for construction over the summer.
MPSD is working with CG Schmidt on improvements at Riverview, Monroe, Stangle, Washington, and Wilson Schools.
Riverview Elementary School will get a security entry for a corridor near a pool, while a new parking lot for parents and bus drop-offs will be constructed at Monroe Elementary.
Stangel Learning Academy, which will become a new elementary school, will receive two new study rooms and an ADA-compliant bathroom.
The middle schools will get more done than the elementary schools.
The pool inside of Washington will be addressed, while workers also move a tech ed space, create a contemporary learning space, and add a new ADA bathroom.
Wilson Middle School will see two consumer science classrooms converted into new classrooms, a raised floor in the band room removed, a computer lab converted into a classroom, and 32 classrooms repainted.
Money for the projects comes from MPSD’s 2025 referendum, which authorized the district to borrow $25 million to make improvements at various district buildings.
