The Wisconsin DNR is looking for public input on how future PFAS laws should be implemented.
They are hosting a virtual public listening session next Friday (June 19th) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to gather feedback on the implementation of programs authorized by a new state law.
Wisconsin Act 200 and 201 required the DNR to develop programs to understand the prevalence of PFAS throughout the Badger State and then address it.
Some activities include private well sampling, addressing contamination in public water systems, and finding technical assistance to local units of government, among others.
Anyone wanting to attend needs to register through a form on Zoom.
PFAS are a group of human-made chemicals that have been used for decades in various products, such as non-stick cookware, fast-food wrappers, and firefighting foam.
