The Manitowoc County Mariners look to improve to 4-2 on the season as they return home for the first time in nearly a month, as they host the Tri-City Bulldogs in a Northern Lights League game at Rubick Field.
The Mariners got back on the winning track last Saturday by defeating the Middleton Panthers 26-0 and improved to 3-2 for the year.
They’ve been winning with defense all year long, pitching three shutouts and allowing just 36 total points.
Five players have recorded 20 or more total tackles. Noah Ayotte leads the way with 19 solo tackles and 4 sacks.
The Bulldogs, from Wisconsin Dells, have struggled this season, having yet to win a game (0-5).
There will be a pregame ceremony saluting veterans, including singing of the National Anthem from the 50-yard line.
The kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County SaberCats have the week off and return to action next Saturday (June 20th), hosting a Midwest United Football League game against the Dubuque Miners at Lakeland University.
The kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
