The Two Rivers Police Department is encouraging local families to kick off the summer by attending its annual “Kids, Cops and Cones” community event at Neshotah Park Playground.
The free event will take place on Wednesday, June 17th, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., giving children and their families the opportunity to meet local police officers in a fun and relaxed setting.
Organizers hope the event will help strengthen the connection between officers and the community while providing an evening of outdoor activities.
Families are invited to bring their children to the playground for games, conversation, and the chance to get to know members of the Two Rivers Police Department.
As the event name suggests, participants can also enjoy a sweet treat, with ice cream being served during the gathering.
In addition to the playground activities, the department is offering a special bike ride with an officer.
Riders should meet at Walsh Field at 5:15 p.m. with their bicycles and helmets.
The short, family-friendly ride will conclude at Neshotah Park, where participants can join the rest of the festivities and enjoy ice cream with officers and neighbors.
